Event Details
Vivian Levi has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Certified Counselor (National Certification); currently she holds the position of the Victim Assistant Coordinator and Supervisor at the Abused Persons Program (APP) in
Montgomery
County. She has been holding this current position with the County since 2001. Prior to that, she worked as the Clinical Coordinator of the Family Crisis Center (FCC) in
Prince George’s
County
Maryland, for 10 years.
Vivian has worked primarily with victims and perpetrators of abuse providing direct treatment to victims of domestic violence and their partners. At APP she has continued to work directly with victims of domestic violence by providing legal assistance, education and information about the legal remedies that provide relief and safety from abuse.
Vivian is a board member of the Maryland Network against Domestic Violence and the current co-chair of their Multicultural Task Force. She represents APP at various interdisciplinary meetings and is working closely with law enforcement to develop new initiatives in order to enhance the safety of DV victims in
Montgomery
County.
Vivian was born in
Athens
Greece and immigrated to
Israel in 1985. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from
Haifa
University. In 1991 she came to the
USA with her husband to study her Masters Degree. Vivian is the proud mother of two children ages 14 and 9.
